It took my social media AI awhile, but eventually it noticed my interest in Now Teach (nowteach.org.uk) and prompted information about Teach for Australia. A quick investigation on their website (teachforaustralia.org) helped me realise why I hadn’t heard of them when I was looking for information on how to transition careers and become a teacher. The organisation got started at about the same time I was enrolling for a Masters of Teaching. This idea of a supported, fast-track approach to teaching sounds appealing, especially as they get you teaching as you study for your Masters. This is something, perhaps, that traditional educators don’t consider or allow for – that people need to work to support the cost of their education. Keith Heggart has some interesting thoughts about Teach For Australia, however, and for his 2017 article on the topic go to EduResearch Matters (https://www.aare.edu.au/blog/?p=2171).
